As a designer, Susan Obercian has over 35 years of professional experience. Her sense of design is highly creative and refined, having been developed through a range of experiences including living in Europe for several years. She is able to visualize and specify everything from overall aesthetics to critical details and beyond, as an artist, problem solver, director, and supervisor.
“I have been designing since I was a little girl—I remember creating a skirt at age nine—this ultimately inspired my first career as a fashion designer. When I started a family, my interests shifted to the home and cooking, and since nothing could stop me designing, I quickly turned to kitchens. I’m very detail-oriented, and I can also envision a whole design space at once. These two strengths work well together for me. Plus, I love to cook.”
For European Country Kitchens, Susan is the principal designer at the Millburn Studio Showroom. She has designed and managed hundreds of projects to completion, including kitchens, butleries, bathrooms, closets, libraries, mudrooms, media rooms, and more, all to the complete satisfaction of an clientele whose referrals continually extend the opportunity to do the work she loves.

Growing up in the rolling hills of Hunterdon county, Bonnie was surrounded by her father's dairy farm wherein the historical home was detailed by her mother with books, fabrics, table linens, hospitality and gardens. In 1984 she founded a design and decoration business which further honed her skills in the making of fine interiors serving clients from New York apts to a penthouse on Cayman Island.
At her center she is a traditionalist creating interiors that uses the entire home considering the clients needs and lifestyle which incorporates flow, scale, color; natural light, and the use of both indoors and out enjoying their entire property all year'round.
Bonnie has traveled extensively and has lived in Europe. At the center of life she is the mother of 3 teen boys; passionate about opera and with her husband they live and restore their historical stone homestead; still in Hunterdon County.
